Student Outcomes - Summer 2023
Our students have high aspirations and consequently higher outcomes. This reflects the high-quality teaching and support that our students receive. It also demonstrates how the Fitzharrys ethos impacts on the approach of our students to their studies.
GCSE
Staff, parents, and governors are incredibly proud of the Fitzharrys students who collected their GCSE results this summer. There have been many wonderful results for this cohort of students. Yet again, Fitzharrys students have done brilliantly under the expert guidance and support of staff at the school, many of whom will be continuing their studies in September in our sixth form: JMF6 Abingdon, as well as in apprenticeships and other post 16 education pathways.
In a year where the national picture is of changing boundaries and falling pass rates, Fitzharrys students have done superbly. It has been a pleasure to see them succeed and we wish them all the very best for their exciting next steps.
Our students' fantastic results are outlined in the table below, alongside the previous 3 years (please note that, as per government guidance following the national disruption to exams and assessments, we cannot publish results for 2020 or 2021).
98% percent of students are continuing in education or have moved into employment following Key Stage 4.
Progress 8 tells you about the progress that pupils in a school make from the end of primary school to the end of year 11. It is a type of value-added measure, which means that pupils’ results are compared to other pupils nationally with similar starting points.

A Level
We are extremely proud of all our sixth form students and the A Level results they have achieved. This was their first set of public examinations, and amongst a changing national picture they have done brilliantly. The hard work and motivation of our students ensures that the outcomes are a real credit to them, and we wish them every success as they prepare for the next chapter in their lives, moving on towards college, university, apprenticeships, and employment. Well done to all our students.
