Fitzharrys School Association

The Fitzharrys School Association (FSA) is a charity run parents, staff and friends of Fitzharrys. Its mission is to raise extra funds which will be used to support the work of the school. The FSA committee plan social events and fun activities to raise money for new school resources and to help improve facilities.

Why do we need to raise money?

The money raised by the FSA improves our children's educational opportunities and school experience. Fundraising allows Fitzharrys to continue to offer the 'extras' which are so important in a school and not covered by existing funds.

How can you get involved?

All parents, carers and staff are automatically Members of the Association and there is an open invitation to attend committee meetings. Meetings are advertised by school email, in our newsletters, and on this web page (see drop down tab below). We are always very happy to welcome new faces and are very grateful for volunteers to help at events.

NEXT FSA MEETING

FSA committee meetings are held approximately once a term to talk about fundraising ideas and plan events. They usually last about an hour.

The next FSA committee meeting will be held on Tuesday 24th March 2026, 7:30pm in the Fitzharrys School Library.

All parents, carers and staff are Members of the Association and very welcome to all FSA meetings - newcomers especially so! If you plan to attend a meeting, please email our FSA Clerk, Mrs Holt at sholt@fitzharrys.school so we know to expect you.

There is no pressure to sign up for a committee role or lead in the organisation of a fundraiser, but all ideas and offers are welcome!  The FSA committee look forward to welcoming you to our meetings.

RECENT Events

Our fifth annual Giant Jumble Sale was held on Sunday 25th January 2026, 10am-12pm, and raised a whopping £3,184.40! This is our most successful fundraiser to date. It beat our previous jumble sale record by over £1000! Thanks to the fabulous Fitzharrys community for your fantastic generosity and wonderful help. What a brilliant team effort.

Our new-for-2025 Christmas events were a brilliant success! The Christmas Tree Sale received consistently positive feedback regarding the high-quality and longevity of our trees, and raised £1085.94! We now plan to run this as an annual event. Our Christmas Hamper Draw was another success story, raising £1267.21!

Our Quiz Night in October 2025 was as popular as ever and enjoyed by all attendees (even the winners of the wooden spoon)! The Quiz raised £744.09 this year!

Our 200 Club continues to be a brilliant fundraiser for the FSA; it should raise approximately £1600+ this year. We have raised £1755 on GoFundMe to date, and look forward to receiving a donation from Waitrose Abingdon in March following our inclusion in their Community Matters green token collection throughout the winter.

From the FSA and the staff and students of Fitzharrys, thank you so much for your continued support and generosity.

Follow FSA on Social Media

The Fitzharrys School Association primarily uses a Facebook page (@FSAnews) for communicating all our latest news on fundraising aims, activities and events to the Fitzharrys community, so follow us there to hear all about what the FSA is working on and help us share our fundraising goals!

FUNDRAISING FOCUS 2025-26

Each year, the Fitzharrys School Association sets a fundraising target.

Following investment in recent years of 15 new picnic benches, a new projector in Main Hall, and the installation of several fantastic and transformative Wall Art designs inside the school, this year the FSA set out to raise £5000 to improve Fitzharrys' sports facilities, in particular our outdoor and indoor court surfaces. These surfaces are now in need of renewal to further improve the experience of our students during lessons and sports clubs, as well as the experience of members of the community who use the school sports facilities for a variety of activities. We hope that our fundraising focus on revitalising the school's sports facilities will enable Fitzharrys to grow revenue streams through increased numbers of community hires. These new, modern facilities will also be an asset for the local community as well as the school: through the development of these spaces, Fitzharrys can support a larger number and wider range of local community clubs and events.

A big thank you to all the FSA supporters for helping us achieve these goals!

GoFundMe 2025

Our GoFundMe for 2025-26 was launched with fresh fundraising goals. Initially, we were hoping to raise £1000 on GoFundMe, but due to all the very generous donations we have received so quickly from the amazing Fitzharrys community, we are overjoyed to be in a position to extend this goal to £2000 - and we are now 88% of the way there! We hope to reach £2000 by the end of the school year.

We really appreciate every single donation and are so grateful for your support. Thank you.

The FSA 200 Club

The FSA 200 Club is a monthly lottery draw that is run by the Fitzharrys School Association (FSA) to raise money for Fitzharrys School, particularly for larger projects which will benefit the greatest number of students.

FSA 200 Club: Application Details

Application to join the FSA 200 Club lottery is possible at any time of the academic year. Anyone over the age of 18 can buy shares. Each share is sold at £5.00 per month, payable by Standing Order.

The size of the prize money awarded will depend on the number of shares sold, but if all 200 shares are sold, there will be 3 prizes each month of £250, £100 & £50. The total prize money will equate to 50% of the total monthly 200 Club income, with the other 50% going to the FSA towards current fundraising goals.

Please note: monthly prizes will be reduced proportionately and in line with the percentages indicated when the total number of shares sold is fewer than 200. When the total number of shares sold is less than 100, prize money will be split into two prizes only. First prize will be 30% of the 200 Club monthly income, and second prize will be 20%. This still equates to 50% of the total monthly 200 Club income.

Please read our FSA 200 Club Application for more information.
