Fitzharrys School Association

The Fitzharrys School Association (FSA) is Fitzharrys' equivalent of a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which exists to raise extra funds which will be used to support the work of the school. The FSA is run by a friendly committee of parents, carers and staff who plan social events and fun activities to raise money to go towards new school resources and to help improve facilities.

Why do we need to raise money?

The mission of the FSA is to raise funds to improve our children's educational opportunities and school experience.  Fundraising allows Fitzharrys to continue to offer the 'extras' which are so important in a school and not covered by existing funds.

How can you get involved?

All parents, carers and staff are automatically members of the FSA and there is an open invitation to attend committee meetings. We are always very happy to welcome new faces to the committee and are very grateful for volunteers to help at events.  We meet roughly once a term to hold an FSA meeting where we talk about fundraising ideas and plan events; meetings and events will be advertised on this page as well as on social media pages.  For more information about joining the FSA or upcoming FSA events, you can contact the school's main office or send an email the FSA Secretary, Mrs Holt at sholt@fitzharrys.oxon.sch.uk

Join the FSA Committee

Before COVID-19, FSA meetings were originally held roughly once a term, in the evening at the Spread Eagle pub on Northcourt Road. Throughout lockdown and whilst the pandemic continues, committee meetings have moved online to Zoom.

The next FSA committee meeting will held on Tuesday 18th January, 7.30pm online via Zoom. If you would like to attend, please register your interest with Mrs Holt, FSA Secretary at sholt@fitzharrys.oxon.sch.uk.

All parents, carers and staff are warmly invited to attend FSA meetings. There is no pressure to sign up to a role or lead in the organisation of a fundraiser, but all ideas and offers are welcome!  The FSA committee look forward to welcoming you to our meetings and to the team.

Fundraising Focus

Each year, the Fitzharrys School Association sets a fundraising target. The FSA is currently talking to the school leadership team for ideas on our new fundraising focus. We will update you with news as soon as this has been agreed.

Most of our usual events have been postponed due to ongoing government restrictions, but we hope to return to these in 2022.

Past Events

As we have been unable to hold our regular in-person events, last year the FSA set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to invest in lots of fantastic new picnic benches, helping to improve outdoor spaces for our students. With the support of the school community, we raised over £1000! In June 2021, the FSA was delighted to purchase 15 new picnic benches for Fitzharrys School.

The annual FSA Giant Jumble Sale held on Saturday 26th January 2020 smashed our jumble records, raising a staggering £1117.74!  Thanks to the fabulous Fitzharrys community for your fantastic generosity and wonderful help.

Our Grand Christmas Raffle 2019 raised £2020.46, making it our most successful fundraising event yet!

From the FSA and the staff and students of Fitzharrys, thank you so much for your continued support and generosity.

Follow FSA on Social Media

The Fitzharrys School Association primarily uses a Facebook page for communicating all our latest news on fundraising aims, activities and events to the Fitzharrys communuity. FSA Instagram and Twitter accounts have also been set up, so follow us on social media to hear all about what the FSA is working on and help us share our fundraising goals!

The FSA 200 Club

The FSA 200 Club is a monthly lottery draw that is run by the Fitzharrys School Association (FSA) to raise money for Fitzharrys School, particularly for larger projects which will benefit the greatest number of students.

FSA 200 Club: Application Details

Application to join the FSA 200 Club lottery is possible at any time of the academic year. Anyone over the age of 18 can buy shares. Each share is sold at £5.00 per month, payable by Standing Order.

The size of the prize money awarded will depend on the number of shares sold, but if all 200 shares are sold, there will be 3 prizes each month of £250, £100 & £50. The total prize money will equate to 40% of the total monthly 200 Club income. 55% of the income goes to the FSA and 5% assigned to administration costs.

Please note: monthly prizes will be reduced proportionately and in line with the percentages indicated when the total number of shares sold is fewer than 200. When the total number of shares sold is less than 100, prize money will be split into two prizes only. First prize will be 25% of the 200 Club monthly income, and second prize will be 15%. This still equates to 40% of the total monthly 200 Club income.

Please read our FSA 200 Club Application for more information.
