Homework

At Fitzharrys school we really value the importance of homework in developing independence, research skills and learning. We believe homework should support and compliment in-school learning and encourage students to work independently to prepare for future lessons.

Top Homework Tips
  • Undertake your work in a quiet, homework-friendly area with no distractions
  • Get into a routine and schedule regular study time
  • Try to do your homework the night it is set so that it doesn’t pile up
  • Break down large assignments into manageable chunks
  • Always try your best

Each student receives a personal study timetable which outlines the frequency for each subject for each year group. Vieiw the current personal study timetables for each year group in the drop down menu below.

Teachers will encourage all students to keep a record of all homework tasks in their planner but will also put instructions and links for tasks on Epraise. If a student finishes work quickly, they should make sure they have completed work to the best of their ability and to inform their teacher. If they find the work too challenging, they should try their best for the allotted time and let their teacher know their concerns in the next lesson.

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is usually open to all students during break and lunchtimes and our LRC computers are available to use for school work.
